A money market calculator is not something an average everyday person would typically use. Many times these are only used by business people who invest money into a money market account. A money market account is an advanced savings account. It generally has a high rate of interest and requires that the investor have a higher minimum balance than a normal account. What a money market calculator does is to help the investor know that they are receiving the best deal with the interest rates rising, but without the risk of regular investments.
Money market accounts are safer than regular stocks and investments because they have the insurance of being backed by the FDIC (Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation). Regular savings accounts are also backed by the FDIC, but with the money market account, the investment in the account is a lot higher than a traditional account. So without having to worry if the bank is going out of business a person can still withdraw their full amount of money they put into the account.
Even though this way is a lot safer than the conventional stock market investment, there are always risks when investing money. It is important that the person that is investing the money know what they are doing before they decide to invest because not knowing the details of the investment can result in a total loss of money or at least a large amount of it being lost.
Since the economy has been in a downward spiral over the last several years, many employers have opted to decrease their involvement in their employee’s 401k plans, thus resulting in panic by the employees. Since this, more and more people have chosen to go with the safer option and put their money in money market accounts.
A downside of putting one’s money into a money market account is that there are often fees for withdrawing money. Each individual bank is usually given an option to charge their customers they withdraw more money than the bank has permitted.
The money market calculator is specifically designed for these types of accounts and aid drastically in the success of investors. Unlike the stock market, these money market accounts are somewhat predictable. With the addition of many banks adding the money market calculator to their website business people can decide what they are going to do with their money from home and it can remove a lot of stress.
